Art-making the day after Thanksgiving

Coming into the "Holiday Season" is always an interesting experience, full of inspiration and planning. An expansive-feeling time, wanting to share ideas and artwork old-and-new. Making plans for launching new projects, reviewing processes, applying to art shows, enjoying family time, and even reviving connections with friends from years ago. It's enough to make my head spin!

To share with you a little about my own artwork situation: I have a very small studio. That means, I need to be very organized. As a natural 'multi-tasker' with a Lot of Ideas, it's a bit tricky sometimes. For example, right now I'm focusing on completing a painting I started a while ago and got distracted from working on. It's going through a lot of changes. Yet, I am getting restless and wanting to start a new print series. When will that happen? I don't know! It's just that to do that I need to make space for it, put away the paint materials and set up the space for a different set of processes.  Sometimes I yearn for a larger studio space. But then, that would have it's own set of issues...more stuff around all the time! I do like a minimalist work environment, so the smaller, structured space works well to support that.  

What created some of the "distraction?"

 Creating a new online art gallery with an artist friend. An idea I had a while ago, before revising my web site to this new version, I wanted to have 'guest artists,' as a way to collaborate and share art ideas and the work of some others. It did get started but then I discovered this new web site format. So now, we Do have a online art space and I'm excited to tell you a bit about it:

we feature only four artists for each online exhibit of 6-8 weeks. Right now we actually have artists scheduled up to April, 2021! You can check it out, see all the current work, sign up to get alerts for when new work is added. I don't want to go through all the details here so just go to the HeartfulArtistsGallery site and see what you think! 

Another project I had not really planned on...

but was inspired to do, was to add a special section to this site, featuring the amazing work of William Saltzman (1916-2006). I am honored to represent his work here. Be sure to take a look. Everything on that section is available for purchase. If you look him up online you will see just a bit of the breadth and scope of his artistic vision in painting, sculpture, stained glass, fountains, and more. I will also be adding some of his fantastic works on paper, in upcoming months.
