Photography
Most artists I know love to do photography. It's the same with me. Another way to see, to remember, to improvise, to create. Some photos you see here have been inspired other work, either directly or indirectly...actually mostly Indirectly. My favorite subjects to photograph are many, and range from nature closeups, to foods, to landscapes, and architecture and building materials. Often a sense of time and history is what fascinates me for a photograph.
What is "Solarization?"
Actually I was surprised to discover, thanks to an artist friend who saw my work, that this unique photographic processing technique has roots in fine art photograph history. I was unaware of this and am delighted to know about it and share with you here:
The description found in Wikipedia is: In photography, solarization is the effect of tone reversal observed in cases of extreme overexposure of the photographic film in the camera. Most likely, the effect was first observed in scenery photographs including the sun. The sun, instead of being the whitest spot in the image, turned black or grey.
